The strangest thing has happened to me this week. My 13 year old daughter
was not feeling well and I called the nurse line and they said that it sounded
like she should be tested for diabetes. So we took the lab test, which was
3 hours long, and I have no insurance so now I have a huge bill. We had to
buy a blood sugar monitor and test strips, the tests and daily monitoring has
proved that she has low blood sugar, hypoglycemic, not diabetes at this time,
but here is what is strange. The tester we had at home, was used by my
other 2 children just to see how it worked when we got it and my son and other
daughter both have had crazy blood sugar amounts this week, my son was 27
this morning and my daughter was 57. What is going on with this? How can
3 children all run low blood sugar everyday for the last week and not feel well.
They have been having hand shaking, not sure of the technical term for this, but
it looks like they can barely hold a pencil. Upset stomachs, not being able to sleep.
What can cause this suddenly? I am at a loss trying to figure it out and would welcome any
advice anyone has. I cannot take 3 children to the dr and have more lab tests with
no insurance. That would be terrible.
Thank you have a blessed day,
Debbie
